Timothy
M. Tippins is a leading authority on New York matrimonial
and family law practice. During his more than 25 years
as an attorney, he has established one of the most active
matrimonial practices in New York State. He currently
serves as head of the matrimonial and family law department
of O'Connell & Aronowitz in Albany, New York.
Tippins
also maintains an independent statewide practice consultancy,
in which he accepts lawyer-to-lawyer engagements and
renders service as trial and appellate counsel in select
cases, as well as case strategy and management consultation.
He also undertakes select expert witness engagements
with respect to matrimonial and family law issues in
fee disputes, grievances and malpractice litigation.
Tippins
has served in all major professional leadership positions
in the New York family law community, including:

Chair of the New York State Bar Association Task Force
on Family Law
Additionally,
he is one of fewer than 100 lawyers nationwide to be
granted Diplomat status by the exclusive American College
of Family Trial Lawyers.
His
written contribution to the body of professional literature
has been extensive. In addition to his principal work,
New York Matrimonial Law and Practice, a three-volume
treatise published by West Group, he has published numerous
articles in an array of professional publications.
In
1993, Tippins founded MatLaw Systems Corp. to provide
current and expert-based information resources and practice
tools to the family law bar. Through MatLaw, he developed
the Tippins Interactive Practice System, a software
program specifically designed to aid New York family
law practitioners in the preparation of practice documents.
Now known as MatMaster 2000TM, this windows-based program
is New York's leading comprehensive software system,
used by thousands of family law professionals.
Long
committed to legal education, Tippins has served as
an Adjunct Professor of Law at Albany Law School since
1987 and has been one of New York's most popular lecturers
on the CLE circuit. He has lectured extensively for
